Kosovo Society of Cardiology joins the ESC

The ESC is pleased to welcome this young society as a new constituent member.
With office in Prishtina, the Kosovo Society of Cardiology (KSC) was founded in 2002.
President Prof. Gani Bajraktari, FESC applied for membership on behalf of the KSC especially in order to help the society on the path towards European integration.
The society currently has 52 members, and as of December 2008, the national cardiovascular journal Zemra (heart in national language) has been established.

KSC is a professional, non-governmental, non-profit organisation including specialists of internal medicine-cardiology, pediatric-cardiology, cardiovascular surgery and angiology, on a voluntary basis.
The membership of the Kosovo Society of Cardiology was announced during the ESC General Assembly which was held 1 September 2009 during the ESC Congress 2009 in Barcelona.
